4/11/04

I just got back from Nate's parents' house for Easter. Today is finally the end of a hectic week, but I guess since it is Sunday, it isn't really the end-end of the week.

My grandma (Bupcha) passed away on Monday. I was very sad about it and went home for the viewing and funeral. Unfortunately, I also had my two finals this week and had to come back to Pittsburgh right after both things both days to take a test.

Thursday night, I went to Hemmingway's with some people from my classes to hang out and blow off some steam and wish each other a happy 2 week "summer vacation" before our summer session starts.

After work Friday, I watched The Apprentice really quickly and then Nate and I left for the 4 hour trek to his house. We got in around 10pm and his mom made a bounty of snacks for us to eat and then we went to sleep. Saturday, his grandparents came over and we ate lunch and played dominoes, where I once again prevailed as the ultimate domino champion. We went to Borders later that night to meet up with one of his friends and chatted it up. Today, we just ate food and then left around 1 to come back. I am happy to be back so I can lay around and so my allergies to crazy farm animal poo or whatever don't act up anymore.

So, what am I going to do with all this free time with no school for the next few weeks? My plan is to do as much of nothing as possible. We are going to my old pal Liz's wedding next weekend, but other than that I have nothing planned. Yay for no plans.

No new news on the apartment hunt yet. We saw 2 from Franklin West last weekend I think. Actually 3. They were all very nice, but for one reason or the other, we decided for now that we aren't interested in any of them. Mostly because the 2 really nice ones had teeny kitchens and no dishwasher and were pretty pricey to not have those amenities. The third one was nice and inexpensive, but was in a basement and I'm looking forward to living above ground after our lease is up here. Also, the stairway down to the apartment seemed narrower than our door is for this apartment, which could cause significant moving issues. If you can recall, we had to give Nate's couch away and buy a new smaller one because his wouldn't fit through our door.

I finished Wario Ware for the Game Boy. Now my life has no meaning. We did get Wario Ware for the Game Cube, but I wasn't aware that it was like the same game. Kind of boring. It is fun though, because now there is multi player action. We just need some friends or something so that we can utilize that.

I bought some shoes the other day. I have so many shoes... but really, I'm buying new shoes because I am trying to phase out the shoes that I hate. Unfortunately, I have to return one pair because they are too small because I have massive feet. These are the shoes I am keeping...

The ones I have are brown. Now, the shoes that I really want don't seem to exist in the United States in my size. This is them:

They are sold in the UK in my size, but I would end up paying like over a hundred dollars for the shoe and shipping and I'm not sure if it is worth it. Plus if they don't fit, that will be really annoying. So that's what's up in my never ending saga to find shoes that fit.

Nothing else new... I'm off to see what I can find to snack on.
